    By GameSpot,

BioShock Infinite fans still waiting on news about the game's single-player DLC.

BioShock Infinite developer Irrational Games will reveal new information on downloadable content for the game in late July, a representative for the developer has told Joystiq.

It is unclear whether the DLC will be the first in the three chapters of single-player content which has been promised as part of the game's season pass, or something more akin to the Columbia's Finest weapon pack that was recently released on Steam.

"Three all-new add-on packs are in development that will provide hours of additional gameplay and continue the player's journey in the sky-city of Columbia with new stories, characters, abilities and weapons," said 2K when it announced the BioShock Infinite season pass in February.

Speaking about the BioShock Infinite DLC, Irrational Games boss Ken Levine recently said, "Things are going well, but plz understand: game development takes time."

The DLC for BioShock Infinite is rumoured to introduce a new AI companion.

Darkspore yanked from Steam amid reports of game-killing bugs

    GameSpot
    By GameSpot,

"Darkspore is no longer developed," warns the game's official forums.

The Steam version of SimCity creator Maxis' role-playing game spin-off Darkspore has been yanked from Steam due to severe long-standing bugs that have rendered the game unplayable for some owners.

The removal (spotted by Player Attack) from Steam follows frequent reports of instability from Darkspore, which requires an active connection to the Internet in order to play, since its launch in 2011. One of the most frequent complaints on the game's official forums is for error code 73003, which first cropped up 12 months ago.

"Error has gone unfixed. Likelihood of it being fixed is zero," said Darkspore forum moderator Inquisitor_Laine at the start of May.

Another error, known as Error 3, made players unable to save changes or create new characters, though recent reports suggest that this error has now been fixed.

"Darkspore is no longer developed," warns Inquisitor_Laine on the Darkspore forums, "for almost all intents & purposes an abandoned title. If you cannot play the game & have flicked through technical issues for any fixes, then contact EA Customer Support; especially if it regards CD-Keys or refunds."

"Error 73003 has gone unfixed & remains an issue. Error Code 3 has arisen for the majority/all & remains an issue."

"I will however keep the forums here as clean & tidy as possible in my spare time. Why? Well why not. If it helps anyone with minor problems, or find their way somewhere, then that's great. I wish you all luck, no matter what path you choose with Darkspore."

    SWTOR Adding Ewok Companion

Ewoks will be joining Star Wars: The Old Republic in the form of a playable companion once Patch 2.3 hits.

Dulfy.net reports that you'll need to be legacy level 40 and have a spare million credits to unlock the companion, called Treek. If you're short on credits, a Cartel Coin option will also be available.

Treek will wear heavy armour, and uses Aim as her primary stat. The pint-sized Bounty hunter will also come replete with both tank and heal stances.

IGN AU Pubcast 73: Refused Classification

So, Saints Row IV and State of Decay have been refused classification in Australia. Both in the space of 24 hours, no less. How about that? The first games to FAIL to qualify for the new R18+ rating since it was introduced. Proscribed drug use aside, the real offender here is, of course, Saints Row IV's alien anal-probe.

That said, isn't it a little hard to demand to be treated like adults while you're having a tantrum over the loss of a dildo-sword designed to be rammed up people's buttocks?

It’s All in Your Head: Gaming and the Brain

We’ve all been gripped by such mischief at one time or another - most likely at Christmas, when spirits are high, or some other holiday when the clan converges: the irresistible urge to fire up the gaming rig and, after she’s had a few egg nogs … Blow. Grandma’s. Mind.

But with what? Delightful cartoon worlds? Dashing hot laps in a Maserati? Of course not. She’s frail, hunched, rheumy-eyed. She wears compression socks, for god’s sake. Naturally, we choose a bit of the old ultra-violence. Zombies are good. Gods of war. The type of space where no one can hear you scream. Odds on, Gran’ll peer into the television screen wearing a puckered gape (quad comedy multiplier for denture detachment), before slowly leaning back in her chair as if sensing a great disturbance in the force, and with reluctant diplomacy, not wishing to crush your spirits, say something like, “Goodness ... I can see that it involves quite a measure of ... hand-eye coordination.”
