Release: October 20, 2020
Platform: PlayStation 4, PC

October is around the corner, and to get in the Halloween spirit, many of us will be seeking out scary games to play. You can add one more to your list with Amnesia: Rebirth. Today, Frictional Games revealed its follow-up to Amnesia: Dark Descent, one of the scariest and most influential horror games of all time, is launching on October 20 for PS4 and PC. To get you in the mood for the horrors that await, a new trailer, which you can watch above, gives you an idea of the atmosphere.

Amnesia: Rebirth is a brand new story set in the world of Amnesia: The Dark Descent. This time around, you retrace the journey of Tasi Trianon through the desolate Algerian desert, which will take you to everywhere from forgotten ruins to alien landscapes. It's said her quest will "explore the limits of human resilience,” forcing her to battle her fears as she explores her surroundings for answers and merely tries to survive by managing essential resources.

“Amnesia is not just another haunted house spook-fest, but an emotionally harrowing journey", said Thomas Grip, creative director at Frictional Games in a press release. "We aim to go beyond simple jump-scares and to affect players on a deeper level. While Rebirth will contain the terrifying encounters and sights you expect from an Amnesia game, it has a lot more focus on narrative than previous entries in the series. We want the player to form a strong bond with Tasi and intimately share her tribulations. This will not be your run-of-the-mill horror experience.”
